Project Manager

Location: Remote, Rhode Island-based
Salary: $50,000 - $60,000 based upon experience

Status: Full-time, permanent

Start date: Immediately


Position Description

We are looking for a hard-working, proactive, and mission-driven project manager to join our team on a full-time basis immediately. Ideal candidates will be seeking to facilitate and advance significant social justice causes through their work.


Systems Change Strategies is a firm that works exclusively with nonprofits, public-sector entities, and progressive campaigns to define, develop, and deploy effective programs, messages, and strategies that engage and empower.

In this position, the ideal candidate will work closely with our growing team and must be comfortable with managing multiple work streams, deadlines, and a diverse client portfolio.  We are a fully remote company, and so most work will occur remotely with some potential for periodic in-person client meetings in the future once safe. 


This position requires prior experience with non-profit or government relations and community outreach & engagement.


  • B.A. in a relevant field of study, or equivalent professional experience.

  • Ability to design and implement detailed project plans and budgets, and ensure the quality of deliverables.

  • Demonstrated history of managing collaborative research, operations, or logistics projects.

  • Familiarity with regulatory, legislative, budgeting, and public policy-making processes.

  • Proficiency in Google Apps for Business, especially Docs, Sheets, Calendar and Meet.

  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and ensure deadlines are met.



  • Experience with data analysis, grant writing, or meeting facilitation is highly valued. 

  • A strong sense of social justice and a desire for long-term change.

  • Ability to think critically about project objectives and the impact on communities.

  • Fluency in Spanish or another non-English language 

  • Familiarity with Rhode Island.

  • A good sense of humor.

Compensation and Benefits: This is a full-time, exempt position of 35 hours per week. Salary range is $50,000 – $60,000 annually. Benefits include paid holidays, flexible paid time off plan, health and dental insurance stipends, and an employer-sponsored Simple IRA retirement plan.
